Across September, Allegiance ranked in the top 3 on Google for 219 search queries, on the first page for 611, and inside the first two pages for 850, counted across every query the site appeared for during the month. All three sit below August's 279, 664 and 868, and the three month view is what gives that its meaning. The first page count is exactly level with July's 611 and the top 20 count is above July's 805, so on those two measures August was a one month high and September a return to the midsummer level. The top 3 count is the exception, below both July's 290 and August, and it is the one item we are watching this month. On the traffic side the site earned 235 clicks, against 229 in August, on 33,532 impressions, up 5 percent from 31,919. From this report forward, clicks and impressions are Google's totals for the whole site, which include searches Google does not itemise. They are not like for like with the figures quoted last month. On the whole-site basis August was 229 clicks and 31,919 impressions.
AI search is the strongest part of the month. Google's own reporting shows its AI features serving your pages 6,100 times in September, up 18 percent from 5,160 in August, and 65 percent of that came from one page we published on your behalf, the Chimney Odors guide. From this report forward we total Google's AI impressions by calendar month, so they are not like for like with the 28 day window quoted last month. Microsoft's own reporting shows Bing and Copilot citing your site 66 times in September. From this report forward we total Microsoft's figures by calendar month too, so they are not like for like with the rolling window quoted last month. On the calendar basis August was 2. In ChatGPT, Allegiance was named and linked on every local question we track, and a cross-platform snapshot of seven answer platforms recorded 18 citations, with Perplexity the largest single surface at 11.
Locally, the map pack is where Allegiance is strongest. At the September 30 check the business held 47 top three map pack placements across the tracked markets and devices, and 43 of those are in Murfreesboro, where it holds map position 1 on 20 of 27 tracked terms on desktop and 18 of 27 on mobile. Those figures come from our daily rank tracker and a set list of priority terms, a separate view from the headline counts above. We rebuilt that list on September 15 so every market is checked on the same 27 terms, which makes this month a starting position by city rather than a trend.
This is the one headline number that sits below both prior months, so we are not reading it as a return to normal. What we know: several core service terms averaged a lower position in September than in August, among them chimney repair at 8.4, chimney inspection at 11.9 and chimney crown repair at 14.1, the last two moving from page one to just past it. The top 20 count moved by only 18 over the same month, from 868 in August to 850, which points to terms shifting down within the first two pages rather than dropping away. What we are doing: reviewing the pages behind those terms, starting with the crown repair guide in priority one of next month's plan, and reporting this count against both July and August again next month.
We pull from several sources so no single tool tells the whole story. The headline counts, clicks and impressions come from Google's own reporting, which covers every search Allegiance appeared for. The map pack numbers further down come from our daily rank tracker, which checks a set list of priority terms in each market, and the AI figures come from Google's own reporting, Microsoft's own reporting and the answer platforms themselves. Each number stays with its source month to month, which is why the two ranking views and the four AI views are shown separately and never added together.

No other query on the site comes close to that volume. It is an informational search and it produced no clicks in September, so we count it as exposure rather than traffic. Its value is that it keeps the Chimney Odors page in front of homeowners at scale, and that same page is the one Google's AI features served more than any other page you own.
Last month's report showed seven crown queries on page one together. In September six of the eleven largest hold it: crown repair cost, crown cost, crown repairs, crown repair costs, how to repair a chimney crown, and the long question about what crown repair typically runs. The head term "chimney crown repair" and the two crown replacement queries moved from page one into striking distance, the head term to position 14.1. All eleven still rank inside the top 20 and are together worth roughly 2,700 impressions a month. The whole cluster came out of the crown repair guide we published on your behalf, and because every one of those queries points at the same page, on-page work there moves the cluster at once rather than one search at a time. That work is priority one for next month.
Queries sitting just past the first page where a small content or link push moves them up. These are the next wave of winsStriking distance keywords are search terms ranking close to page 1 (roughly positions 10 to 20). They typically take less work to push onto page 1 than starting a brand new keyword from scratch..

Last month this term sat on page one. In September it averaged position 14.1, and we would rather say that plainly than leave it in a table. It is the second biggest query on the whole site by impressions, behind only "smell from chimney", and it points at the crown repair guide we published on your behalf. The topical groundwork is still there: that same page holds page one positions for six related crown terms. Moving this one head term back up would do more for the cluster, and for clicks, than any other single change available on the site, which is why it is the first item in next month's plan.
The ranking counts describe how much of the search results Allegiance occupies. These numbers describe what that produced during the month, and how September sits against the two months before it.
September brought 235 clicks against August's 229, on 33,532 impressions against 31,919, a 5 percent rise in impressions, with both figures taken from Google's totals for the whole site. Looking only at the searches Google itemises by query, a smaller set that does not add up to the whole-site total, first page positions carried about 58 percent of those impressions and the top 3 positions produced about 64 percent of those clicks.
Searches for the business by name led the clicks. "Allegiance chimney solutions" took 35 clicks off 252 impressions at an average position of 1.4, up from 19 clicks in August, which makes it the most productive query on the site. "Allegiance chimney" and "chimney sweep murfreesboro tn" added 3 each at positions 2.3 and 1.9, and "chimney repair nashville" added 2 at position 9.6.
Read across three months the first page picture is flat, not falling: 611 in July, 664 in August, 611 in September. The top 20 tier tells the same story from a higher base, at 805 in July, 868 in August and 850 in September. The top 3 tier is the one that does not follow that pattern, at 290, 279 and 219, which is why it is this month's watch item. Clicks over the same three months were 155, then 229, then 235, on 27,809, then 31,919, then 33,532 impressions.
These specific pages are the foundation for everything ranking, and they are also the pages the answer engines reach for. The AI search impressionsAn AI search impression is one time Google served this page inside an AI-powered result, such as an AI Overview or an AI Mode answer. It is Google's own count, taken directly from Google's own reporting, and it is separate from a normal search result impression. figure shown on each page is how often Google served that page inside its AI results during the month.
Real local 3-packWhen someone searches for a local service like "chimney sweep near me," Google shows a special box at the top with a map and three business listings. This is called the local 3-pack or "map pack" and ranking inside it is a major driver of calls. rankings, checked every day by our daily rank tracker across the tracked service area on both desktop and mobile. This is the tracked view: a set list of 27 priority service terms checked in each market, separate from the headline counts, which cover every query Google showed the site for. At the September 30 check, Allegiance held a top three map pack position 47 times across those markets and devices. Murfreesboro accounts for 43 of them, and the depth there is what stands out: on desktop the business holds map position 1 on 20 of 27 tracked terms, and on mobile it holds map position 1 on 18 of 27. Chimney sweep, chimney cleaning, chimney repair, chimney inspection, fireplace repair and gas fireplace repair all sit at map position 1 in Murfreesboro on both desktop and mobile.
| Market | Top three map pack placements |
|---|---|
| Murfreesboro | 43 |
| Spring Hill | 2 |
| Nashville | 1 |
| Brentwood | 1 |
| All tracked markets | 47 |
We rebuilt the tracked list on September 15. It now holds 27 core service terms checked the same way in every market, where last month's report drew on a longer, older list. That means these figures are not like for like with the 40 map pack keywords quoted last month, and we are not presenting any of them as a rise or a fall. What they show is where Allegiance stands today: Murfreesboro is firmly held, and the Nashville area markets are early, with 2 placements in Spring Hill and 1 each in Nashville and Brentwood.
Organic positions by city on the new list, and month over month movement in each market, start with next month's report, once a full month of daily checks is in hand.
Four separate views measure this. Google's own reporting counts 6,100 impressions inside its generative AI features in September, up from 5,160 in August, with 65 percent of that coming from the Chimney Odors guide. Microsoft's own reporting counts 66 citations in September against 2 in August, both totalled by calendar month. Our daily prompt monitoring has ChatGPT naming and linking Allegiance on every tracked local question we ask it. And a cross-platform snapshot records 18 citations across the tracked answer platforms.
The page at /chimney-odors-causes-and-solutions/ was served into Google's AI features 3,956 times in September. That is 65 percent of your entire site's AI visibility coming from a single page.
That page is ours. It came out of the blog indexing project we ran for you, where we took an old seasonal post that had no search demand behind it, rewrote it at length around the chimney odors topic, added FAQ structure and internal links to your chimney services pages, and moved it to a keyword-aligned URL with a redirect. We wrote the content, specified the structure, and mapped the internal links on your behalf.
The second-largest AI page, /chimney-crown-repair/ at 1,062 impressions, came out of the same project. Between them, the two pages we rewrote account for 82 percent of all AI search impressions for the site. That is the clearest return-on-content signal in this report: the two pages we touched are the two pages the answer engines reach for.
A cross-platform read of how Allegiance is cited across the seven tracked AI answer platforms in September. It is the widest view by platform coverage and the smallest by volume: 18 citations in September, against 27 in August. Four of the seven platforms cited the site.
That is not a contradiction, it is two different measuring sticks. The snapshot above is an outside sample of answers across seven platforms. Microsoft's figure in View B is Microsoft's own count of citations on its own surfaces, and Google's figure in View C is Google's own count. A sample and a full count are not expected to match, which is why we show four views rather than one. In September both of the platforms' own counts rose while the sampled snapshot eased from 27 to 18, so we give the platforms' own counts more weight.
Microsoft's own reporting shows how often Bing and Copilot chose Allegiance as a source, totalled for the calendar month. It covers the Microsoft AI ecosystem only.
Microsoft's own reporting names the underlying searches its AI was answering when it cited Allegiance, and "fireplace repair" stands out among them. The same search averaged position 12.5 on Google in September, in striking distance of page one, so work on your fireplace repair content serves both engines at once.
Google's own reporting on how often it served your pages inside AI Overviews and AI Mode during September. This is the most authoritative of the four views because it comes directly from Google. September's 6,100 compares with 5,160 in August on the same calendar month basis.

We ask a fixed set of real homeowner questions to Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT every day from a Murfreesboro location, then record whether Allegiance is named and whether the site is linked as a source. The figures below are the share of those tracked prompts where each happened during September.
ChatGPT named and linked Allegiance on every tracked local prompt in September, and the link rate climbed 20 points to get there. Google's AI Overviews came in lower than the prior period: named on two thirds of the tracked prompts and linked on one third, where the prior period had both on every prompt. The gap between being named and being linked is the opportunity: the brand is recognized, but there is not yet a page deep enough on every one of those specific questions for the engine to cite. Building that depth is what turns a mention into a clicked link, and the Chimney Odors result shows it works at scale. Founded in 2020 and led by Vivian Reyes Hammonds, Allegiance also carries the trust signals these engines weigh, including BBB Spark Award recognition and free estimates on repair work.
September held the page one footprint at its July level while Google's and Microsoft's own AI counts both grew. Heading deeper into the fall booking season, the plan concentrates on the places where the rankings already exist and only the position or the citation is missing.
"Chimney crown repair" carries 1,593 impressions at position 14.1, the largest volume outside page one anywhere on the site, and it sat on page one last month. The eleven largest chimney crown queries all rank inside the top 20 and six still hold page one, together worth roughly 2,700 impressions a month. Title, meta and content depth work on that one page is the highest leverage project available, because it moves the whole cluster at once.
One guide we published on your behalf now accounts for 65 percent of your AI visibility, and the two pages we wrote account for 82 percent of it. We are applying the same treatment (deep topical content, FAQ structure, keyword-aligned URL, internal links to your service pages) to the next tier of homeowner questions, starting with chimney inspection cost and the gas fireplace questions already sitting in striking distance.
Allegiance holds map position 1 on 20 of 27 tracked Murfreesboro terms on desktop, while the Nashville area markets account for 4 of the 47 map pack placements. October is the first full month with every market on the same 27 terms, so next month's report will show movement by city for the first time on this list, and fall content stays pointed at Nashville area searches.
