September extended the climb for a third straight month. Blount finished the month in the top 3 for 42 search queries (up 2), on the first page for 240 (up 12), and inside the top 20 for 333 (up 4). In July those three counts were 37, 178 and 260, so the first page has grown by 62 queries in two months and every band has risen in each of them.
Across the whole site, Google recorded 7,312 impressions and 103 clicks in September. From this report forward, clicks and impressions are Google's totals for the whole site, which include searches Google does not itemise. They are not like for like with the figures quoted last month. On the whole-site basis August was 112 clicks and 8,384 impressions, and July was 134 clicks and 7,644 impressions. Impressions have come back close to July's level after an August peak. The same dip showed up in September across unrelated sites we track, concentrated in positions beyond page one. We are reviewing the daily data before drawing a conclusion. The first page is doing more of the work: among the searches Google itemises, first page positions carried 60 percent of impressions against 46 percent in August. Clicks have eased for a second month while all three ranking counts rose. That is the one item we are watching this month, and it is set out under the headline metrics below.
Google showed the site for 441 different search terms in September. From this report forward that total is added up from Google's own position record, the same source as the three ranking counts, so it is not like for like with the 446 printed last month. On this basis August was 475. The pool narrowed at the deep end, where terms sitting beyond position 20 went from 146 to 108, while the first two pages grew, so 54 percent of the terms the site appears for are now on the first page, against 48 percent in August.
Underneath those site-wide totals sits a narrower working list: 56 priority terms we check every day from Tonawanda and from Buffalo. On that list Blount held 40 top-three organic placements at September 30, with 22 of 56 terms in the top three on Buffalo desktop and 17 of 56 on Tonawanda desktop. The whole concrete excavation family sits at position 1 in both desktop markets. Mobile checks began on September 15 and open with 23 first page placements across the two markets, which is a starting position rather than a trend.
In AI search, the buyer questions we track produced their first readings. ChatGPT named and linked Blount in 20 percent of them and Google's AI Overviews named Blount in 25 percent, both up from zero. Microsoft's own citation count held level, and Google's own count of AI answer impressions came in lower than August. Both are set out in section 07. Behind the numbers, the refreshed homepage and concrete delivery page copy went live on September 21, and the cold weather concrete guide was published on your behalf on September 29.
Google's whole-site count came in at 103 clicks in September, against 112 in August and 134 in July, while all three ranking counts rose in both months. Two things sit behind it. First, brand searches carry most of the traffic: 73 percent of the clicks in the searches Google itemises came from people searching the Blount name, and Google recorded the main brand search 164 times against 220 in August at an unchanged average position of 1.4. The ranking held; fewer of those searches came through it. Second, three service searches that averaged inside the top three in August ("concrete delivery service near me", "concrete excavation removal" and "commercial foundation services") averaged between 3.6 and 5.9 in September. They are still on the first page, but the top three is where the clicks are: in the searches Google itemises, positions 1 to 3 produced 76 percent of the clicks from 14 percent of the first page impressions, while positions 4 to 10 produced 18 percent of the clicks from the other 86 percent. So the job is no longer getting onto the first page. It is moving up it. The refreshed concrete delivery page copy went live on September 21, which makes October the first full month Google reads it, and the delivery searches sitting between positions 5 and 7 are where we expect it to show first. Alongside that we are tightening the titles and descriptions on first page terms that draw impressions without clicks.
We pull from several sources so no single tool tells the whole story. The headline counts above come from Google's own reporting, which covers every search Blount appeared for, while the market-by-market and map pack numbers further down come from a daily rank tracker checking a short list of priority terms in Tonawanda and Buffalo on desktop and mobile. AI figures come from the platforms themselves and from our own checks of tracked buyer questions. Each number comes from whichever source measures it best, and stays with that source month to month.
The largest queries where Blount appeared on the first page of Google in September. The concrete delivery family is the biggest single block, the excavation family has joined it, and the brand searches sit at the top. From this report forward the positions in this table and the next are Google's own monthly average across every location and device, the same source as the headline counts, so they are not like for like with the single-market positions shown here last month. Those single-market readings now sit in the local section, where concrete excavation still holds position 1 in both Tonawanda and Buffalo.

"Concrete excavation" averaged position 8.5 in September against 12.9 in August, and "excavating concrete" 9.5 against 13.1, so both crossed from page two to page one on Google's site-wide average. "2 yards of concrete delivered" made the same move, from 12.0 to 7.0, and "concrete delivery near me" climbed from 7.0 to 4.2 and produced a click. Fourteen of the thirty terms above are delivery and ready mix searches. Most of that block now sits between positions 5 and 7, which is the ground the refreshed delivery page is meant to move.
Queries already ranking on page 2 where a small content or on-page push moves them onto page 1. These are the next wave of winsStriking distance keywords are search terms ranking close to page 1 (average position above 10 and up to 20). They typically take less work to push onto page 1 than starting a brand new keyword from scratch., and this month the list is led by the broad company and contractor searches that decide who gets the call.

| buffalo ready mix concrete | 17.3 | 28 |
| excavation contractor buffalo ny | 15.5 | 26 |
| concrete contractor tonawanda ny | 15.2 | 26 |
"Concrete companies near me" averaged position 10.5 in September, up from 11.0 in August, and it already produced a click from there. "Concrete contractors" sits at 11.2. Those two are the closest to crossing. Behind them, five of the sixteen terms above are excavation company and contractor searches served by the Excavation Services page, between positions 13.2 and 17.3, so one page of work moves five rankings. "Concrete contractor tonawanda ny" is the fastest mover on the list, from an average of 23.8 in August to 15.2.
These specific pages are the foundation for everything ranking. Each one carries a block of related search terms. The number of ranking queriesA "ranking query" is a unique search term that this specific page showed up for on Google during the reporting month. One strong page typically ranks for many related searches at once. shown next to each page is how many different Google searches that page appeared for in September, from Google's own reporting.
This section is a different measure from the counts at the top of the report. Here our daily rank tracker checks a fixed list of 56 priority concrete, delivery, excavation and foundation terms from two specific markets, Tonawanda and Buffalo. It answers a narrower question than the headline counts: on the terms we are actively working, where does Blount sit for a searcher in each market? The figures are the reading at September 30. Desktop was checked for the full month. Mobile checks began on September 15, so the mobile rows are a starting position, not a trend.
| Market | In the top three | On the first page | Priority terms checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo, desktop | 22 | 26 | 56 |
| Tonawanda, desktop | 17 | 30 | 56 |
| Buffalo, mobile (checks began September 15) | 1 | 12 | 56 |
| Tonawanda, mobile (checks began September 15) | 0 | 11 | 56 |
| Total top-three placements | 40 |
The four concrete excavation searches hold position 1 in both desktop markets. Three small-load delivery searches hold position 1 in Buffalo and one in Tonawanda, and the brand search holds it in both. Against the August 31 reading for the same two desktop markets, the first page count held at 30 in Tonawanda and went from 28 to 26 in Buffalo, while top-three placements went from 44 to 39. Five delivery placements moved out of the top three. Four of them moved to position 4, one step outside. The fifth, "short load concrete delivery near me" in Tonawanda, was not found on the day of the reading while holding position 2 in Buffalo. That is the same pattern as the item we are watching above: the positions are on the first page, and the work now is holding and retaking the top three. On mobile, the first two weeks of checks open with 12 first page placements in Buffalo and 11 in Tonawanda, and next month's report will carry the first mobile comparison.

"Concrete contractors" held position 7, "concrete companies" sits at 3, "concrete services" moved up to 4 and "concrete company near me" moved up to 8. The largest single move was "concrete contractors near me", from position 31 to 18, and "foundation services" went from outside the top 100 to position 4. Of the 21 terms, seven moved up, six held and eight eased back, all but one of those by one or two positions. The exception is "concrete maintenance", which went from 5 to 9 and is addressed in next month's focus.
The local map packWhen someone searches for a local service, Google often shows a box near the top with a map and three business listings. This is called the local 3-pack or map pack. It is measured separately from the ordinary organic listings underneath it. and the organic listings underneath it are two separate result sets, and our daily tracker reads them separately. At September 30 Blount held map pack position 3 for "concrete company" (9,900 national monthly searches) in Tonawanda on both desktop and mobile. Organic is where Blount's local strength is today, and the map pack is the thinner side.
AI search is still an early channel for Blount, and we would rather show it at its real size than dress it up. The clearest movement this month is at the level of individual buyer questions: ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews both went from not mentioning Blount to naming it. Microsoft's own citation count held level. Google's own count of AI answer impressions came in lower than August. Each reading is set out below with the month before it on the same basis.
A mention puts the Blount name in front of the buyer. A link gives them a way to reach the site straight from the answer. Blount now has the first on both platforms we track and the second on ChatGPT. The work that feeds the second is the same work in the rest of this report: clear, specific service pages and guides that answer a buyer's question outright. The homepage and concrete delivery page were refreshed on September 21, the cold weather concrete guide was published on September 29, and three more winter guides are written and queued behind it. We continue to check the same set of buyer questions in ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews each month, so the next report will show whether 20 and 25 percent hold or build.
Notes on the data: Google's AI impression figures are exposure counts, not clicks, because AI answers often settle the question in place without a visit to the source. Google also does not generate an AI Overview for every question on every check, so an unnamed reading can mean either that Blount was not named or that there was no AI answer to measure that day. Separately, the third-party snapshot that samples a subset of questions across seven AI platforms did not pick up a Blount page in September. It is a sampled floor rather than a full count, and the readings above are the firmer measure.
On September 21 the refreshed copy for the homepage and the concrete delivery page went live. Both were written section by section to fit the existing page layout. While we were in the homepage we corrected its heading structure: the page had been declaring three main headings to search engines, and it now declares one, so Google is told a single clear topic for the page.
On September 29 we published the cold weather concrete guide, covering pouring and curing late in the Western New York season. It follows the structure that has been working: a real decision framework, local freeze-thaw context, and a question and answer section marked up so search engines and AI answer engines can read it cleanly.
We also wrote two new articles for the fall and winter stretch, one on concrete repair versus replacement and one on steps and stoops, and staged the road salt and winter protection guide on the site. The road salt guide is next in the publishing queue, with the two September articles behind it.
On the measurement side, we widened the daily rank tracking list from 48 to 56 priority terms during September and added mobile checks in both Tonawanda and Buffalo on September 15. That is why mobile appears in this report as a starting position.
Three months of gains have put 240 search terms on the first page. September's data says the next gain in traffic comes from moving up that page, not from adding to it: in the searches Google itemises, positions 1 to 3 produced 76 percent of the clicks from 14 percent of the first page impressions, and positions 4 to 10 produced 18 percent from the other 86 percent. The priorities below follow from that.
Fourteen of the thirty largest first page terms are delivery and ready mix searches, most of them between positions 5 and 7. October is the first full month for the refreshed concrete delivery page, and we will pair it with tighter titles and descriptions and internal links from the homepage and guides, then read the same searches again at month end.
"Concrete companies near me" averages position 10.5 and "concrete contractors" 11.2, the two closest to crossing. Behind them sit the excavation company and contractor searches between 13.2 and 17.3, and in the Tonawanda check the driveway and patio contractor terms at 20 and 15. On-page copy and internal linking aimed at those pages is the work.
"Concrete maintenance" eased from position 5 to 9 in the Tonawanda check. The road salt and winter protection guide is written for exactly that cluster and is next to publish, followed by the repair versus replacement and steps and stoops articles, which support the maintenance and stairs pages through the cold months.
