Wolfman finished September ranking in the top 3 for 264 queries, on the first page for 709 queries, and inside the top 20 for 902 queries, counted across every search the site appeared for. Read those against the last two months together: August was a peak at 301, 730 and 924, and July sat at 226, 574 and 773. September gave back part of August's jump and kept most of it, so the first page count is still 24 percent above July. Clicks were 294 against 299 in August on 27,939 impressions against 28,135, both within 2 percent of August and both above July's 279 clicks and 26,207 impressions. From this report forward, clicks and impressions are Google's totals for the whole site, which include searches Google does not itemise. They are not like for like with the figures quoted last month. On the whole-site basis August was 299 clicks and 28,135 impressions. Within the searches Google itemises, the share of impressions earned from first-page positions rose to 72 percent from 65 percent. This is a return toward normal after a peak, on a base well above July's.
The per-city picture comes from a separate source, our daily rank tracker, which checks 27 priority commercial terms in each of Wolfman's five markets on desktop and mobile. At the September 30 check that view showed 19 top-three organic placements. For the map pack, each market is shown on the best measurement we have for it. Checked from a grid of points around each location in the second week of October, Wolfman is in the map top three on 309 of 425 checks in New Braunfels, 201 of 425 in Austin and 35 of 153 in Bastrop. Checked from one point in each city on September 30, it holds 26 of 54 in Georgetown and 18 of 54 in San Antonio. Georgetown is the one to notice, holding 14 pack slots on desktop and 12 on mobile while its organic rankings are only starting to form, which is normal: the map and the organic list are separate results. The strongest organic placements are "fireplace repair near me" and "level 2 chimney inspection" at position 1 in New Braunfels, "gas fireplace repair" at 2 and "chimney repair" at 3 in San Antonio, and "chimney inspection" at 2 in Austin. The same 27 terms have been tracked in all five markets since mid-September, so these figures are a starting line and are not like for like with the per-city counts in last month's report.
AI visibility is measured four ways. The strongest result is in the daily prompt tracking: in New Braunfels, ChatGPT named and linked Wolfman in 100 percent of tracked answers, and Austin rose to 75 percent on both measures. Across the seven major AI platforms, Wolfman was cited 8 times in September, the same count as August, with 7 of those inside Google's AI Mode and 1 inside ChatGPT. Microsoft's own reporting recorded 8 citations in September. From this report forward we total Microsoft's figures by calendar month, so they are not like for like with the rolling window quoted last month. On the calendar basis August was 7. Google's own reporting shows Wolfman pages appearing 948 times in AI-generated answers during September, and that is this month's watch item. Google's AI figures are now totalled by calendar month as well, so they are not like for like with the 28-day window quoted last month. On the calendar basis August was 1,400.
This is the one number in the report moving the wrong way. Wolfman pages appeared 948 times inside Google's AI-generated answers in September, 32 percent fewer than August on the same calendar-month basis. What we know: the Chimney Bricks explainer is still the top page at 319 appearances, about a third of the total, and the other AI lenses did not follow the drop. Cross-platform citations were level at 8, Microsoft's count was 8 against 7, and ChatGPT named Wolfman in every tracked New Braunfels answer. What we do not yet know is whether the fall came from one page or from many. Next month we will break August and September down page by page, homepage against guide pages, before drawing any conclusion, and in the meantime we keep publishing the specific, answer-shaped guides these features draw on.
We pull from several sources so no single tool tells the whole story. The headline counts above come from Google's own reporting, which covers every search Wolfman appeared for, while the city-by-city and map pack numbers further down come from our own checks of priority terms in each market, from one city point on desktop and mobile and, where we have it, from a grid of points across the service area. AI figures come from the platforms themselves. Each number comes from whichever source measures it best, and stays with that source month to month.
What Google actually delivered during the month: how many times Wolfman appeared in results, how many of those appearances turned into visits, and how much is queued on page 2.
August was the strongest month of the year, so September landing a little under it is a return toward normal rather than a warning sign. The more useful comparison is the two-month one: 709 first-page queries in September against 574 in July is a 24 percent gain, and the top 20 count moved from 773 to 902 across the same stretch. Clicks were 294 against 299 and impressions 27,939 against 28,135 on Google's whole-site totals, both within 2 percent of August, and both ahead of July (279 clicks, 26,207 impressions). The mix improved too: within the searches Google itemises, first-page positions produced 72 percent of impressions against 65 percent in August, and 94 percent of itemised clicks came from the first page, with 66 percent from the top three. Wolfman is holding a materially higher base than it held in July, and holding it going into fall inspection season.

"chimney brick" and "chimney bricks" together pulled 403 impressions in September, the singular at 9.4 on the first page and the plural at 11.3 just past it, all of it landing on the Chimney Bricks explainer. That same page accounts for 319 of Wolfman's 948 appearances in Google's AI answers, about a third of the site total from a single guide. One page earning conventional rankings and feeding the AI surfaces at the same time is the pattern worth repeating, and it is the clearest argument for continuing to publish specific, answer-shaped guides.

"chimney bricks" averaged 11.3 in September on 308 impressions, which puts it at the top of page 2 on a term the brick explainer already carries inside Google's AI answers. That is the shortest distance to a visible win on this list. "chimney leak repair" is the term to be plain about: last month's report had it at 11.5 on 1,156 impressions, and in September it averaged 19.7 on 386. Google showed six different Wolfman pages for that one search during the month, up from three in August, so the work is to point the leak content at one target before pushing it again. The chase cover family is the clearest content gap: "chase cover repair" at 193 impressions, "chase cap repair" at 188 and "chimney chase cover replacement near me" at 34 add up to 415 combined monthly impressions split across the Austin chase cover page, the San Antonio chase cover page and the homepage, with no single guide to anchor them. The fourth thread is Austin, where nine fireplace and chimney queries sit between 10.3 and 19.4, seven of them within two positions of the first page.
Wolfman competes in five separate search markets that behave differently, so we check each one on its own every day, on desktop and mobile, against the same list of 27 priority commercial terms. The counts below are that per-city working view as of September 30, a much smaller hand-picked set than the site-wide totals in the headline metrics, so they sit beside those totals and do not restate them. The 27-term list has been tracked identically in all five markets since mid-September, which makes this month the starting line for Georgetown and Bastrop.

The daily tracker checks the same 27 priority commercial terms in five markets, on desktop and on mobile. At the September 30 check Wolfman held 19 top-three organic positions in that view: 7 in San Antonio, 5 in New Braunfels, 3 in Austin, 2 in Georgetown and 2 in Bastrop. The table above lists the 15 that are service terms, and the other 4 are the Wolfman name itself at position 1. New Braunfels supplies the two cleanest results, "fireplace repair near me" and "level 2 chimney inspection" both at position 1 on desktop. San Antonio is the deepest market, holding "fireplace repair," "gas fireplace repair" and "fireplace repair near me" at 2 and "chimney repair" at 3 on desktop, which lines up with where the San Antonio page depth is strongest. Austin contributes "chimney inspection" at 2 on desktop and "chimney rebuild" at 1 on mobile. Ten of the 27 terms hold a top three in at least one market, and the other 17 are the working list for the months ahead.
Real local 3-packWhen someone searches for a local service like "chimney sweep near me," Google shows a special box at the top with a map and three business listings. This is called the local 3-pack or "map pack" and ranking inside it is a major driver of calls. coverage across Wolfman's five Central Texas markets, each shown on the best measurement we have for it. New Braunfels, Austin and Bastrop are measured across the whole service area: 17 core services, each searched from a grid of points around the location. Georgetown and San Antonio are measured from one point in each city, on 27 priority terms, on desktop and on mobile. Map pack and organic results are separate populations, so a market can be strong in one and quiet in the other. None of these readings is like for like with the 42 quoted last month, which came from an earlier keyword list and a single point per city, so this month is the starting line.
| Market | How it is measured | In the map top three | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Braunfels | 17 services from 25 points around the location, October 8 | 309 of 425 checks | 73% |
| Georgetown | 27 terms from one city point, desktop and mobile, September 30 | 26 of 54 checks | 48% |
| Austin | 17 services from 25 points around the location, October 9 | 201 of 425 checks | 47% |
| San Antonio | 27 terms from one city point, desktop and mobile, September 30 | 18 of 54 checks | 33% |
| Bastrop | 17 services from 9 points around the location, October 9 | 35 of 153 checks | 23% |
In New Braunfels, Wolfman is in the map top three on 309 of 425 checks and in first place on 220 of them. Five services, among them fireplace repair, gas fireplace repair and chimney cap replacement, are in the top three at every one of the 25 points, the clearest proof that the home market is locked down. Austin is in the top three on 201 of 425 checks and first on 115, and the detail by service is in the next table. Georgetown holds 26 of 54 checks, 14 on desktop and 12 on mobile, in a market where the organic rankings are only starting to form, with two top-three organic positions, both on mobile. That is not a contradiction: the map pack and the organic list are separate results and move independently. San Antonio holds 18 of 54 and Bastrop 35 of 153, with first place on 14. The grid readings were taken in the second week of October, just after the reporting period, because that is when the wider measurement began for Austin and Bastrop. They are a baseline for future reports, not a change from September.
| Service searched | Map top three | Map top ten |
|---|---|---|
| Gas fireplace installation | 23 of 25 | 25 of 25 |

| Chimney inspection | 8 of 25 | 19 of 25 |
| Chimney sweep | 2 of 25 | 16 of 25 |
Across the 425 Austin checks, the listing placed in the map top three on 201, in the top ten on 289, and in first place on 115. The fireplace services are the strongest: gas fireplace installation, wood stove installation, fireplace repair, fireplace remodel and gas fireplace repair each reached the top ten at all 25 points. Earlier reports showed Austin as close to invisible in the map. That came from checking the city at a single point, and this wider reading is the accurate one, so it is a better measurement and not a jump. It also shows where the room is, and the same pattern appears in New Braunfels: dryer vent cleaning and dryer vent installation reached the top three at 1 of 25 points in both markets, and masonry repair and tuckpointing sit at the bottom of the list beside them in both. "Chimney sweep" reached the top three at only 2 of the Austin points, against 24 of 25 in New Braunfels, which makes it the clearest Austin target.
These specific pages are the foundation for everything ranking. Each one carries traffic across many related search terms, and several are doing double duty by feeding the AI answer surfaces as well.
These are four different measurements of the same underlying thing, and they belong together. The cross-platform count is a snapshot across seven AI platforms. Microsoft's own reporting counts citations inside Microsoft's AI surfaces for the calendar month. Google's own reporting counts how often Wolfman pages appeared in AI-generated answers for the calendar month. The daily prompt tracking records whether the AI engines name and link Wolfman when asked real homeowner questions. Cross-platform citations held level at 8, Microsoft's count was 8 against 7 in August, Google AI appearances came in at 948 against 1,400, and ChatGPT named and linked Wolfman in every tracked New Braunfels answer.
Google AI Mode supplied 7 of the 8 citations and ChatGPT supplied the eighth. AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Grok returned no cited pages in this snapshot, which is not unusual at this scale. The daily prompt tracking in Lens D is the better measure of how consistently the AI engines reach for Wolfman, and Microsoft's own count in Lens B is the better measure inside that ecosystem.
We put the same four homeowner questions to ChatGPT and to Google AI Overviews every day in each market, and record the share of answers that name Wolfman and the share that link to the site. The questions are listed under each market.
We run the four homeowner questions listed above through the AI engines every day and record two things: whether Wolfman is mentioned, and whether the mention carries a link to the site. In New Braunfels, ChatGPT mentioned Wolfman in 100 percent of tracked answers and linked the site in 100 percent of them, unchanged from the period before. Austin ran at 75 percent on both measures, up 50 points on links and 25 points on mentions, the biggest gain in the prompt tracking this month. San Antonio ran at 75 percent on both, down 25 points. Google AI Overviews in New Braunfels mentioned Wolfman in 100 percent of tracked answers and linked in 75 percent, and it has not yet named Wolfman in the San Antonio or Austin prompt sets. Prompt tracking currently covers New Braunfels, San Antonio and Austin, while Georgetown and Bastrop are rank tracked and not yet in the prompt set. Being named and linked in every ChatGPT answer in the home market is the strongest AI position Wolfman holds right now, and the size of the Austin jump says the same result is reachable there.
The Chimney Leak Repair Guide we published on your behalf in February, the Austin gas fireplace installation guide we wrote for you the same month, the gas- and wood-burning fireplace pillar we produced for you in April, the May "Why Central Texas Chimneys Crack" and dryer vent fire prevention posts we wrote for you, the site-wide meta title and description deployment we shipped across all 87 New Braunfels, Austin and San Antonio pages in June, the three June geo posts (New Braunfels summer masonry, Austin wood-to-gas conversion, San Antonio off-season inspection), the three Central Texas cost guides we drafted for you in July, and the August posts on Austin gas fireplace service and San Antonio creosote removal are the library that both Google's AI surfaces and Microsoft's Copilot and Bing Chat are pulling from. This month the Austin gas fireplace installation guide alone supplied 63 of the 948 Google AI appearances. Every additional pillar and rewritten service page adds more source material for both ecosystems to cite.
September held most of the ground August gained. The headline counts came in a little below an unusually strong August and well above July, clicks and impressions came in at 294 and 27,939 on Google's whole-site totals, within 2 percent of August and ahead of July, cross-platform AI citations held at 8, and Microsoft's count edged from 7 to 8. Heading further into fall inspection season, after a summer of Central Texas heat cycling working on masonry joints and crowns, the priorities are the ones with the clearest arithmetic behind them: a brick term just past page 1 carrying 308 impressions, a leak repair term that needs one page to rally behind, a chase cover cluster carrying 415 impressions with no guide of its own, nine Austin queries parked just past the first page, and the Google AI appearance count to pull back up.
Pushing "chimney bricks" off 11.3 and onto page 1, pointing the leak repair content at the Chimney Leak Repair Guide so "chimney leak repair" stops splitting across six pages, and consolidating the Austin fireplace repair and chimney repair pages into single canonical targets with the exact-anchor internal links already mapped.
Publishing the chase cover repair guide that unlocks the 415-impression cluster sitting on page 2, extending the brick explainer pattern of specific answer-shaped guides, completing the page-by-page read on the Google AI appearance count, and building Georgetown and Bastrop organic page depth behind the map pack coverage those two markets already hold.
